Swab based DNA test to establish Paternity Relation now common in India

A test to prove paternity whether a man is someone's father is known as a paternity test.A paternity test involves looking at the DNA of a child in order to check the identity of his or her father. Paternity tests are sometimes carried out when a woman has had more than one sexual partner around the time she conceived (got pregnant) or because the father of the child is denying that the child is his. Sometimes paternity tests are requested by the court which is known as court-directed. This means that paternity needs to be provided as evidence in a legal case. Some time also Immigration department ask to show the proof of paternity which is actually DNA testing result. With current developments in biomedical technology, we can do by disposable sample collection kits through which anyone with an interest can conduct a DNA test at their convenience and on their own, upon reading a few instructions on how to go about it. This would be a major development, because a huge component of the current considerably high cost of a paternity test goes to the payment of the people who conduct the test, seeing that with the relatively modest technology commonly available today, the DNA test normally has to be conducted by a high skilled professional in a highly equipped laboratoryDNA test samples can be collected from family members by simply swabbing the inside of the cheeks with a special swab. This is quick and painless. DNA paternity testing involves the comparison of the DNA sequences for man, child and in many cases the mother. We each have 23 pairs of chromosomes, half of which we inherit from our mother, the other half from our father. If a match is found between a child's DNA and the man's, there is no doubt that he is the biological father. Having a sample of the mother's DNA can help by removing her DNA from the equation. But there is always option of Mother less relationship testing for Father and Child.
